If you are convicted of a drug offense, there can be significant effects on you, including driver’s license sanctions and barriers against obtaining student loans. If you really can’t go a few months without using you may well be better off pleading guilty than violating your probation; but that’s something you should decide in consultation with a lawyer.
it depends on your circumstances, how big was your operation, how much weed was involved and what you said when they arrested you. also, how long can they prove you were in business. depending on those and other ans. your penalty will fall between probation and prison. did you have any connections in canada? if so the cost is going to go up.
Unfortunately, Michigan is a “no tolerance” state. Even a first offense for cultivation is a felony, punishable by four years in state prison. A charge of distribution is also a felony (unless there’s no remuneration), each conviction punishable by another four years.
Get an attorney, ASAP. And as soon as your legal woes are over, get the heck outta the militia state of Michigan.
You’ll get jail time. Michigan is not easy on delivery charges. A big factor in this is HOW much did they accuse you of delivery and manufacturing? This will be a big factor. If it is over 650grams, you will do prison time, guaranteed. Michigan has a law regarding amounts of drugs. I did a year in prison in Michigan for Prescription fraud. While in prison, one of my good friends, who is from the UP, also had a prescription fraud charge, she got 28 months in prison. This was not our first offense though. Do not take it to trial. Try to get a plea deal with the prosecutor, believe me!
You will get jail time.
